Highlights of New Maintenance Craft Contract

07/08/2016 - We have a new Collective Barganing agreement that is good through September 8, 2018. Maintenance highlights are as follows.  All Maintenance PSE's will be converted to full time custodial positions as of September 3, 2016. As full  time custodians, members will be eligiable to update with in the maitenance craft  to be eleigable for promotion.  There will be no probationary period if they have served for a period of one year. In addition they will be eligable for seniority rights and holiday pay. There were  some conconsessions made in the negotiating process as far  limitations on subcontracting. Other imortant updates to the new contract include, a no lay off clause for all career employees hired prior to July 8, 2016. Also, the uniform allowance was increased. Early outs were not discussed during arbitration.  The next step is local negotiations.
