Commuter Benefits Program |

Qualified expenses include transit costs and parking fees. The Internal Revenue Service has increased the limit for each category in 2022 to $280 a month, up from $270 a month last year.
Any career Postal Service employee is eligible for this benefit. There is no fee to join or cancel. There is no open enrollment period; employees can enroll or make changes at any time throughout the year.

Purchasing power can be used as an alternative to a loan, this program allows you to buy products as a deduction from your paycheck. To be eligible for this you have to be a career APWU member with a year of service at a minimum of 20 working hours. This is a part of the Voluntary Benefits Plan.

Federal Employee Group Life Insurance (FEGLI) |

You are auto-enrolled into the Federal Employees Group Life Insurance (FEGLI) program as soon as you make a career. Ensure that you want these benefits or need to make any changes as open season for this is not yearly. There are optional coverages that you can enroll in that are priced based on your age. The basic coverage that you are auto-enrolled in is not impacted by your age.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) allow career postal workers to use pre-tax dollars to pay for out-of-pocket health care, dental, and vision expenses not covered by insurance, including co-payments and deductibles.
Employees can also set up a Flexible Spending Account for dependent care expenses for children and aging parents.
